📘Introduction to KOSMEK AB Series Air Hydraulic Pump

The KOSMEK AB Series air hydraulic pump is a reciprocating plunger type hydraulic booster pump specialized for pressure holding circuits. The biggest advantage of this pump series is its ability to generate high hydraulic pressure (from 10 to 90 times amplification) just by using standard factory compressed air, without needing an electric motor.

With its compact design, the AB Series is easy to install and ideal for applications such as hydraulic overload protectors (KOLP), clamping systems, etc. Notably, the pump offers outstanding energy savings: it automatically stops when the hydraulic pressure reaches equilibrium with the set air pressure, and only restarts when the hydraulic pressure drops.

⚙️Operating Principle

The AB pump operates based on the principle of reciprocating plunger pressure intensification:

1. Air Supply: Compressed air (PA Port) is supplied, pushing the air piston to move.
2. Compression Stroke: The air piston pushes the hydraulic plunger with a smaller area, compressing the hydraulic oil and generating high pressure at the outlet (PH Port).
3. Suction Stroke: The integrated air directional valve automatically reverses, the piston moves back, sucking oil from the tank into the compression chamber.
4. Automatic Stop (Pressure Holding): The compression and suction process repeats (generating pressure pulses) until the output hydraulic pressure balances with the input air pressure (according to the intensification ratio). At this point, the pump automatically stops and holds the pressure without consuming additional air.
