📘Introduction to KOSMEK KOLP PH Series System

The KOSMEK Overload Protection System (KOLP) is an indispensable hydraulic safety device that maximizes capacity and ensures safe, efficient press operation. With over 20,000 units shipped, KOLP is the culmination of KOSMEK's experience and advanced hydraulic technology.

The PH Series (Air Type) is the standard product line, allowing users to set the overload pressure flexibly and accurately via a pneumatic regulator. When overload is detected, the system reacts instantly (< 1 msec) to release hydraulic oil, simultaneously sending an emergency stop signal to the press, providing absolute protection for the machine and expensive dies.

⚙️Operating Principle (PH Series)

1. Preparation: Supply compressed air to the KOLP. The built-in hydraulic pump operates, generating a preset pressure (preload) in the press's Overload Cylinder (O.L.C). When the set pressure is reached, the main valve and pilot valve move, activating the limit switch, signaling the machine is ready to operate.
2. Overload Detection: When the press encounters an overload, the pressure in the O.L.C spikes. When this pressure exceeds the set threshold, the pilot valve moves and instantly releases the hydraulic oil back to the tank (response time < 1 msec).
3. Emergency Stop: Simultaneously with the oil release, the pilot valve releases the limit switch, sending an "OFF" (Emergency Stop) signal to the press and cutting off the compressed air supply to the KOLP.
4. Recovery: After removing the cause of the overload and returning the slide to top dead center, the operator simply presses the reset button to re-supply compressed air to the KOLP. The system will automatically recharge to the set pressure and be ready to operate again.
